HUSH (A Poem)

Hush now lonely one 

The storm is gone

Mellow are the winds that pass

The sky's horizon reaches out 

While summer breezes through 

Your life is new 

Today you meet your fate 

You greet it with a kiss 

Today is all there is

You make amends with winter's past

And worry not of what's to come 

For it will come no matter what 

It will come, to all and one 

So savor all your sights and dreams

They come and go but never last 

Set your sail and paddle on

Sail away for life goes on

Hush now lonely one

Bless me, silent heart 

Bless me with your hymn and light 

Your secret lullaby 

That feeds my soul

All day long

Bless me with a song 

Your music lingers in my veins

Like crystal waters 

Calming rivers, 

Sweet surprise

Wash upon my eyes

Fill me with your tides

Bless me silent heart 

Bless me with your air and sky

So I may wake up with your sun

And sleep

With your moon tonight

You cannot control what people say or do to you but you can control how you react.

Not everyone may have the best intentions for us, but everyone can teach us something, may it be persistence, endurance, kindness, patience, faith, understanding, and forgiveness...  and in that light, we are given the tools to prepare for life and its ups and downs, its never ending twists and turns. It doesn't matter if it's a co-worker who whines 24/7, a friend who breaks a promise, a family member who speaks ill of us. It's true what has been said of life:

"You cannot control what people say or do to you but you can control how you react"

Not everyone may have the best intentions for us, but everyone can certainly hand us the best lessons for us, to become the best that we can ever be, and live life the best way possible.

DEEP INSIDE US IS A BALL OF INNOCENCE, JOY AND PURE LOVE

Deep inside us, in the very depths of us is a ball of innocence and joy and pure love , you can hide it and push it down below you in a sea of shame and guilt and sorrow but it's always gonna be there - the harder you push it the stronger it bounces back and one day it will resurface and show you who you really are , you need only to let go.
