Dashama developed Pranashama Yoga (The Prasha Method) from years of personal practice as well as training with some of the greatest masters of our time. This is the same system she used to heal her own life, rising from a childhood of poverty, being a ward of the state, bouncing around between foster homes, alcohol and other substance abuse issues, eating disorders, thyroid disease as well as healing her spine after 3 tragic car accidents that cost her the cervical curve in her neck. This fusion yoga style and life transformation system is designed to help you heal, strengthen, tone and balance your body, become centered and balanced in your emotions and clear any blocks to accessing your highest potential in life. She has been featured with and speaks on expert panels at conferences with luminaries such as Louise Hay, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Stephen Covey, Byron Katie, David Wolfe, Dr. Cousins, Dr. Brian Clement and Jason Mraz. In her early years working with Russell Simmons’ DefCon3, it was his work with inner city youth as well as her own life challenges that inspired Dashama's many philanthropic partnerships. Dashama leads yoga teacher training transformation retreats worldwide and is available for speaking & teaching engagements in the USA and internationally as well.

WHAT'S KEEPING YOU BUSY?
Lot's of things! Today I'm working on a proposal for The National Geographic Magazine. Just kind of putting that together and trying to work with my graphic designer. It's a big year coming up. I'm really excited about traveling. I'm going on a bunch of trips this year, one of them coming up real soon. I lead yoga teacher trainings for a 30-day period at a time , to certify yoga teachers. First one is in Bali and that's in June. After that I may stop by Australia or Hawaii for my birthday, and then head back to the United States. In August, I'll be headed back over to Europe where I have a studio in the Isle of Man - an island in the Irish Sea between England and Ireland. I'll be doing a 30-day program there. It's a very cool magical little known place. I'll also be going to the Olympics (London) for a couple of days hopefully and then heading back to the United States to lead a 30-day program in Miami Beach.
I've been working on creating a TV show. It will potentially be tracking our participants as we travel around the world and do awesome stuff , and share healthy habits and love. That's what I'm working on, creating this show, especially the Bali one - more exotic locations. We're looking at Fiji, Bora Bora, Tahiti.
Another thing I'm really working towards is my next book which is going to be called "The Biggest Breakthrough". It's a compilation of people who have had amazing breakthrough stories. I'm will be putting that together, and publishing soon but I don't have a date yet because I'm really busy.
ARE YOU LOOKING FOR ANY SPECIFIC BREAKTHROUGH? (SPIRITUAL, PHYSICAL, etc)
It could be about anything really ... the way that I am allowing for people to submit is any breakthrough that they have experienced. If it includes health, yoga or diet it's probably more likely to make it in the book. But people have breakthroughs all the time in many ways and I want to share those stories. I think it inspires people, motivates people. It shows people what's possible in life. I feel that's worthy of my time.
You know it's really funny. Ever since I was a child I've always been a writer, I've always been a little actress in front of the camera. It's something I always put myself in front of. I love helping people. I've always been an athlete so I've always loved working with the physical body. In that way I feel I've definitely been working up to this my whole life. It seems to be just a natural progression at this point as I start to really embody my purpose more and more.
I started developing this style in the very beginning of my life with yoga. I think part of me always wanted to follow someone else's specific style but I couldn't really find one which was 100% resonating with what I really needed all the time. So I just started developing my own. In doing that it evolved into a really really beautiful, effective, powerful system called the 'Prasha' method with 10 unique yoga sequences, fitness programs, diet and meditation. It's a whole lifestyle transformation system that has evolved from what was originally my practice and what I used to heal my own life. I'm just starting to get it organized, writing it down and making videos about it and getting it out there in a bigger way so that other people can appreciate and experience it as well.
WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNED FROM YOURSELF SO FAR?
I'll give you three. First - To TREAT EVERYONE AS YOUR FAMILY and love them that way. Forgive and love everyone in the world freely. Second - To BE PRESENT wherever you are. Enjoying with gratitude the present moment. Third - To REALLY FOCUS on what it is that you want, because anything that you want you can have...but you have to focus.
Something that I used to do was try to do too many things all at once. I still do that but I'm getting much better at not doing that. I hope to continue being better at doing one thing at a time.
What I would change about the world? I would definitely make certain that everyone on earth has water and food and a home that's safe to live in.

YOU ARE FACE TO FACE WITH YOUR 8 YEAR OLD SELF. WHAT PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOU?
I would say "Find loving support and stay there". When I was in that age we ended up going into foster care. It was really interesting because we never really knew where we were gonna live, we never really knew where we were gonna stay, we never really knew who we were gonna trust... So at a young age it's really important for children to know who to trust, where to live, what's real and who supports their journey.
My biggest life motivation is to complete all the projects that I have initiated because there are a lot of them - The TV show, my new book and my other projects with National Geographic, the yoga school and the live training and the travel and all that. I have a lot of programs and a lot of projects that I have created and started. I'm really just working on completion. Not really adding too many new things to the list. But just really completing all the things that I've initiated.
IF YOU COULD SHARE ONE MESSAGE TO THE WORLD, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Love yourself so you can love others. Embody more of what your life purpose is here. You can do that. You can start right now, wherever you are - by being present, by connecting with your breath and calming your mind - realizing that you are an infinite being with unlimited potential, amazing unlimited creativity.
In this life there are no limits. I'd like to encourage people to understand that any limitational belief systems can be reprogrammed and a new perspective on life is waiting for anyone who is ready to make that commitment.
